Clash Royale has officially unveiled Ronin, a brand new 5 Elixir Legendary card, as the highlight of the upcoming July 2026 Season Update.
Revealed during the latest TV Royale episode, Ronin is a melee troop with a unique defensive mechanic that allows him to reflect powerful melee attacks back at his enemies. Every few seconds, Ronin enters a counter stance. If he’s struck by a melee attack during that window, he reflects the damage with even greater force while briefly stunning the attacker.
This makes Ronin a strong counter against heavy-hitting troops like P.E.K.K.A, Mega Knight, Prince, and Mini P.E.K.K.A. However, players can bait out his counter stance using low cost units such as Skeletons, Goblins, or Spirits before committing their main attacker.
Ronin won’t simply appear in players’ collections. Supercell is introducing a special unlock event, allowing players to earn the new Legendary card by completing event objectives. He will also be the main focus of a four week Album Event, featuring nine story scenes that explore Ronin’s journey before entering the Arena.
The July 2026 update also marks the return of CHAOS Mode, bringing new gameplay modifiers, rotating card pools, and fresh rewards throughout the season.
With an entirely new Legendary card and multiple limited time events arriving together, the July update is shaping up to be one of Clash Royale’s biggest content drops of 2026.
