“August is not a season. It’s Chaos.”
That was the message at the end of the latest TV Royale, and it accurately describes what is coming to Clash Royale in August 2026.
Season 86 introduces Hero Berserker, Hero Valkyrie and Evolution Elite Barbarians. Alongside the new cards, Ken’s C.H.A.O.S is expanding into a ranked Draft League, a Global Tournament and several additional Chaos game modes.
The new season is expected to begin on August 3, 2026, following the end of the current Honor & Exile season.
Here is everything confirmed so far.
August 2026 update overview
| New content | Type | How to unlock | Main mechanic |
|---|---|---|---|
| Hero Berserker | Hero | Free through Ken’s Chaos Draft League | Becomes temporarily unkillable and attacks faster |
| Hero Valkyrie | Hero | Pass Royale | Spins and dashes between enemy troops |
| Evo Elite Barbarians | Evolution | Free through Ken’s Shop | Throws Rage javelins and charges through Rage trails |
Hero Berserker and Evo Elite Barbarians can be earned for free, while Hero Valkyrie will be included in the August Pass Royale.
Hero Berserker and Savage Survival

Hero Berserker is the most detailed of the three additions because her ability statistics have already appeared in the developer build.
Visually, the Hero version transforms the normal Berserker into a glowing golden form. Her eyes light up, a spirit animal appears and she enters full Berserk mode.
Like other Heroes, she retains the normal Berserker’s base statistics. The difference is access to her single-use Hero ability, Savage Survival.
Savage Survival ability
Savage Survival costs 3 Elixir and provides several temporary effects:
- Movement speed changes from Fast to Ultra Fast
- Hit speed improves from 0.6 seconds to 0.2 seconds
- Damage increases from 102 to 167 at Level 11
- Her health cannot fall below 1 HP
- Crown Tower damage is heavily reduced
The ability is listed with a four-second duration. However, Hero Berserker has an activation animation of approximately 1.45 seconds, leaving around 2.6 seconds of effective attacking time in current developer-build testing. All these numbers remain subject to change before release.
Is Hero Berserker actually invincible?
Not completely.
During Savage Survival, she can still receive damage and remain targeted by enemy troops. The special effect only prevents her health from dropping below 1 HP.
This means she cannot die while the ability remains active, but she can be eliminated immediately after it ends.
RoyaleAPI testing also found one unusual exception: Evolved Goblin Cage can reportedly capture and defeat Hero Berserker even while she has the Unkillable effect.
How much damage can Hero Berserker deal?
Against a single troop, Hero Berserker can potentially land 12 enhanced attacks during the active window.
At Level 11, that represents:
- 2,004 total troop damage
- 835 damage per second during the attacking window
- Up to 492 Crown Tower damage from 12 ability attacks
Her ability attacks deal only 41 damage each to Crown Towers, compared with 167 against troops. Therefore, Savage Survival is primarily a survival and troop-destruction ability, not a straightforward Tower damage boost.
Best ways to use Hero Berserker
Based on the current numbers, Savage Survival should be strongest when used to:
- Survive an attack that would otherwise kill Berserker
- Destroy a tank or high-health melee troop
- Protect the rest of a counterpush
- Force an opponent to wait before using a spell
- Continue attacking through massive incoming damage
Activating the ability simply because Berserker reaches a Crown Tower may not be worth the additional 3 Elixir. Current testing suggests that she can cause more Tower damage without the ability unless Savage Survival prevents her from dying.
She may also be less effective against large swarms than the 0.2-second hit speed suggests. Retargeting between multiple Skeletons or Goblins takes longer than repeatedly attacking one target.
Hero Valkyrie turns spinning into a dash attack

Hero Valkyrie takes the original Valkyrie’s spinning attack and turns it into a much more mobile ability.
When activated, Hero Valkyrie:
- Gains increased movement speed
- Spins toward an enemy troop
- Deals area damage around herself
- Dashes from one available target to another
- Continues spinning when there are no additional targets
Unlike Hero Berserker, Hero Valkyrie is not protected from lethal damage. Enemy troops, buildings and spells can continue damaging her, and she can die during the spinning ability.
This creates an important difference between the two Heroes. Hero Berserker is built around temporary survival, while Hero Valkyrie appears designed for mobility, area control and chaining through groups of enemies.
Potential Hero Valkyrie strategies
Hero Valkyrie could be especially dangerous against:
- Goblin and Skeleton swarms
- Support troops positioned behind a tank
- Split-lane defenders standing close together
- Defensive troops placed between her and a Crown Tower
Her ability may allow her to begin spinning through defenders and continue applying pressure after the original push has been cleared.
However, TV Royale did not reveal the ability’s Elixir cost, duration, targeting range or exact damage. It is too early to determine whether Hero Valkyrie will replace the existing Evolved Valkyrie in popular decks.
How to unlock Hero Valkyrie
Hero Valkyrie will be available through the August Pass Royale.
She is currently the only one of the three announced cards that is not confirmed as a free seasonal reward.
Evolution Elite Barbarians throw Rage javelins

Elite Barbarians are also receiving a new Evolution, not a Hero form.
When deployed in their evolved form, the Elite Barbarians throw Rage-tipped javelins toward enemy troops or Crown Towers. The javelins create glowing Rage trails across the Arena, which the Elite Barbarians then charge through.
The Evolution effectively provides them with their own path toward a Rage effect instead of requiring players to spend additional Elixir on a separate Rage spell.
Why Evo Elite Barbarians could be dangerous
Elite Barbarians already punish players who overspend Elixir or leave a lane undefended. Their Evolution could make those punishments even faster.
Potential strengths include:
- Quicker movement toward distant targets
- Increased pressure after throwing the javelins
- The ability to target both troops and Towers
- More powerful bridge attacks
- Less dependence on a separate Rage spell
Important details remain unknown, including the Evolution cycle requirement, javelin damage, Rage duration and the exact length of the trail.
How to unlock Evo Elite Barbarians
TV Royale confirmed that Evolved Elite Barbarians can be earned for free through Ken’s Shop during the August season.
The exact shop requirements have not yet been revealed. Players may need to complete events, collect a seasonal currency or claim the Evolution through a special reward path.
Ken’s Chaos Draft League explained
The new cards are only one part of the August update.
Ken’s C.H.A.O.S is expanding from a rotating mode into a collection of Draft events, tournaments and friendly battle options.
In Ken’s Chaos Draft League, each player selects four cards. The four cards they reject are automatically given to their opponent.
After both decks have been created, players select their Chaos modifiers and begin the battle.
This adds an extra layer of strategy because every card you refuse is a card you may have to counter.
The ranked Chaos Draft season is expected to run for two weeks, from August 3 to August 17, with Hero Berserker included among its major rewards.
Additional Chaos modes
TV Royale also announced several other Chaos formats:
- Chaos Triple Draft
- Epic Only Chaos
- Sudden Death Chaos
- Infinite Elixir Chaos
- Chaos Mega Draft
- Custom Chaos Draft Tournaments
Players will also be able to use Chaos rules in Friendly Battles and host custom tournaments for friends or Clan members.
Ken’s Chaos Mega Draft Global Tournament
Ken will host the first Chaos Mega Draft Global Tournament.
Both players will take turns selecting cards until their decks are complete. Once the drafting stage ends, Chaos modifiers are introduced.
Players can earn rewards, collect wins and compete for positions on the global leaderboard.
Unlike a normal Draft battle, Mega Draft gives players more control over their complete deck. However, every selection also reveals information to the opponent, allowing them to choose counters or deny important combinations.
Massive August balance changes are also coming
Season 86 is expected to arrive alongside an unusually large set of balance changes.
The work-in-progress changes include possible nerfs for all four Spirits, adjustments to Goblin cards, Hero and Champion ability changes, experimental reworks and buffs for cards such as Little Prince, Goblinstein and Mighty Miner.
The Spirit changes are particularly important. Supercell has been testing either a health reduction or a movement-speed reduction for Electro Spirit, Fire Spirit, Heal Spirit and Ice Spirit.
These changes are still marked as work in progress, so individual statistics may be adjusted or removed before the final August update.
What players should do before Season 86
First, prepare for Draft rather than relying only on one ladder deck. Understanding card interactions will be more valuable than mastering a single prebuilt combination in Ken’s Chaos Draft League.
Second, avoid immediately spending Hero Coins on Hero Berserker. Because she can be earned through the ranked Chaos reward track, completing the event first may save valuable resources. RoyaleAPI reports that a direct Hero Coin unlock will also be available.
Finally, remember that all three additions are still pre-release. Hero Valkyrie and Evo Elite Barbarians do not yet have complete public statistics, while Hero Berserker’s developer-build numbers can still change.
Final thoughts
The Clash Royale August 2026 update is much bigger than a normal card release.
Hero Berserker introduces a new minimum-health mechanic. Hero Valkyrie turns a familiar splash-damage troop into a mobile spinning attacker. Evo Elite Barbarians create their own Rage path before charging through the Arena.
At the same time, Ken’s Chaos Draft League could change how players approach seasonal events. Instead of bringing the strongest deck from the current meta, players will need to draft carefully, understand modifiers and prepare to face every card they reject.
Whether these additions improve the game or create complete chaos remains to be seen.
Considering what TV Royale showed, it will probably be both.
Three new card forms were announced: Hero Berserker, Hero Valkyrie and Evolution Elite Barbarians. There are two Heroes and one Evolution.
Hero Berserker cannot drop below 1 HP while Savage Survival is active. She can still receive damage and can die immediately after the effect ends.
Savage Survival currently costs 3 Elixir. The normal Berserker card itself costs 2 Elixir to deploy.
Yes. Hero Berserker can be earned through the ranked Ken’s Chaos Draft League. She can also be unlocked directly with Hero Coins.
Hero Valkyrie has been announced as an August Pass Royale reward. No separate free unlock method has been confirmed.
Evolution Elite Barbarians will be available for free through Ken’s Shop. The exact unlock requirements have not yet been announced.
It is a ranked Draft mode where each player chooses four cards and gives the remaining four to their opponent. Players then select Chaos modifiers before beginning the match.
Season 86 is expected to begin on August 3, 2026.
